ISSPCS TPKB Theory Description document available for public review. In keeping with the open and transparent goals of the ISSPCS programme, the ISSPCS development team has made the first draft of the TPKB (Theoretical and Practical Knowledge Base) Theory Description document available to the IT and systems security industry for public review, comments and feedback. The ISSPCS Subject Matrix at http://www.isspcs.org/tpkb/ shows Theory as the first of six Disciplines, the remaining five Disciplines have a practical focus. Importantly this document describes the Theory Modules outlining in broad terms the content that will be covered by the various modules within the Theory Discipline. This is being used to develop content and assessment for the evaluation of candidates sitting the ISSPCS theory evaluation process, therefore we expect this to receive considerable attention from reviewers. The document contains instructions for providing feedback. To download the document in PDF format, go to http://www.isspcs.org/resources/tpkb-theory-1-005.pdf We look forward to hearing from you. --- 2. ISSPCS receiving public interest. Following the success of the first public ISSPCS forum, the first articles mentioning ISSPCS have appeared in the press. So far, reception of the programme has been positive and the changes that will bring are seen as beneficial. The first article to be published covering ISSPCS was in The Australian, the national newspaper for Australia. It appeared in a weekly IT supplement following the AusCERT2003 conference, also held in Australia. http://australianit.news.com.au/articles/0,7204,6449055%5E15317%5E%5Enbv%5E15306,00.html (this URL must be rejoined if it splits over two lines to avoid a File Not Found error) --- Thankyou for being part of the ISSPCS development. http://www.isspcs.org/
